Commercial lockouts here are restaurants, salons, and small offices in street-level spaces under apartments. The sidewalks are narrow, the meters are short, and a van cannot stage in the travel lane. The showroom is in the neighborhood. The nearest Metro is uphill at Woodley Park. Most owners walk or take a bus on 18th Street.

Restaurant basements on 18th Street often have a sidewalk hatch plus the glass door. A lockout that is really the hatch will not be solved by opening the storefront. Tell us which leaf faces the patio.

Often, if you can show you run the shop. We will ask. We will not open it for a customer waiting outside.
Can you do this without blocking the bus stop?
Yes. We work from the sidewalk. The shop is close enough that the van can stay put.
