Deadbolts on painted brick fronts
Installs here are rowhouse slabs on Columbia Road and the streets off 18th, a short walk from the showroom. You can look at the hardware in the shop before we bore the door. Sidewalks are narrow, meters are short, and there is nowhere to set up a sawhorse in the street. Woodley Park station is the uphill Metro.

Rowhouse stiles on these blocks sometimes hide a steel plate from an older repair. A hole saw will tell you immediately. We look with a magnet first so we do not ruin a bit or the paint.

Will a new deadbolt fix a door that sags?
No. If the slab hits the frame, we deal with the hinges too, or the new bolt will not throw.
