Porch doors that need a real strike
Cleveland Park installs are porch-front houses. The Red Line serves the avenue. Older jambs and a history of short strike screws are the pattern. A meter on the avenue covers a straightforward install.
On this visit
Porch doors on Ordway swell at the bottom rail. A deadbolt aimed at today's strike will miss in August. We leave a little clearance and still screw the strike into framing, not the stop alone.

The old strike is loose. Will a new deadbolt hide that?
No. We repair the strike path. Otherwise the new bolt has nothing to lock into.
Do you stock the lock or do I buy it?
We can supply it. A photo of the edge sent ahead avoids a second trip.
