Strikes in substantial frames
Dupont strikes go into office and lobby frames. The frames are heavier and the finishes matter. The Metro is under the circle. A garage is the staging area. We do not cut a decorative frame on a whim.
On this visit
Dupont stone and hollow metal get identified before the cut. If a mortise release is kinder than a strike pocket, we say so while the jamb is still whole. Fail mode is written down, not assumed.
Frequent questions
Will the cut be visible?
The strike face will show, finished to match as closely as the hardware allows. We will not leave a raw hole.
Can we approve the strike at the shop?
Yes. Look at it in Adams Morgan, then we schedule the Dupont cut.
