Mortise cylinders in formal doors
Dupont rekeys are townhouses and small offices. Many doors use a mortise cylinder rather than a bored deadbolt. The Metro is under the circle. Parking is a garage. A curb on the circle is not a work space.
On this visit
Staff keys at a Dupont office should be counted against a written list before we cut. A bowl of unlabeled brass is how a former intern keeps access. We will not cut six extras to be safe.
Frequent questions
We lost a staff key and do not know which doors it opened.
Then we rekey every door it might have fit. Guessing leaves a door on the old key.
Can I compare cylinders at the shop first?
Yes. The showroom is north of you in Adams Morgan, a short ride outside rush hour.
