Old pin stacks on the hill
Mount Pleasant rekeys are original doors on a steep walk. Many cylinders are older than the deadbolt someone added later, and the two are not on the same key. There is no Metro. The bus down to Adams Morgan is the simple transit. Permit parking makes a long curb stay a bad plan.
On this visit
Original mortise locks on the hill sometimes have a threaded cylinder that backs out if it is overtightened. We rekey it in the door. We do not take the mortise case home.
Frequent questions
The front and the basement are different keys today. Can they stay that way?
Yes. Say so. We will not combine them unless you ask.
How close are you?
Under a mile down the hill. Walking the keys to the showroom is realistic.
