Shaw rekeys follow renovations: a new slab in an old rowhouse. U Street and Shaw stations cover transit. Nighttime curb space disappears under restaurant traffic, so a daytime appointment is the easier park.
On this visit
Alley gates in Shaw are padlocks, not house cylinders. A rekey of the house does not change the padlock. If you want the alley included, say padlock so we bring a replacement shackle lock.
Frequent questions
Can you rekey on the morning of settlement?
If you can be at the door with authority to change the locks, yes. Call ahead so we are not guessing the closing time.
Do you work after the restaurants open?
Yes, but parking is worse. A daytime slot is simpler on U Street.
