Renovated rowhouses off U Street
Renovated rowhouses sit next to storefronts, and many facades kept the old opening while the slab was replaced. Shaw and U Street stations are on the Green and Yellow lines. Nighttime meters and valet lines around the restaurants make a curb stop unreliable after dinner.
On this visit
U Street renovations left filler plugs where an old letter slot used to be. A lockout on those slabs is sometimes the new bolt hitting a plug, not a lost key. Mention the filler if you can see it from outside.
