Shaw closers live on restaurant and bar doors that cycle late. A closer that fades at midnight leaves a door flapping on U Street. Transit is the Green and Yellow lines. We prefer a daytime adjustment, before valet takes the curb.
On this visit
Shaw restaurant doors get propped with a crate. The closer dies. We replace it and we say the crate has to go. A hold-open is a hardware choice, only if the opening is allowed to stand open.

The closer is tired or undersized for that use. We replace or reset it. Propping is not the plan.

Yes. Late morning is the easy park and the easy test, with the door quiet.
