Sliding, swinging, and folding entrances on a service interval

These are entrances that cycle all day: sliding operators, swing operators, safety sensors, and guide rails. A service visit inspects belts and arms, walks the safety zones, records force, and sets the next interval. A dead sensor, a tripped breaker, debris in a floor track, and a missing safety decal are the ordinary reasons a door is 'acting up' months after someone last looked at it.

Put it on a schedule if the entrance is public and the operator is already installed. Call the low-energy install service if you do not have an operator yet. Tell us the door type before the van leaves, because a slider and a swing do not share a parts kit.

Belts, safety zones, and the decal that went missing

The visit produces a force note, a safety walk, and a date for the next look. It does not include rebuilding a storefront that was hit by a pallet jack unless that repair is quoted. ANSI/BHMA A156.10 and A156.19 are the two standards that split full-automatic from low-energy. We say which one your header claims to be.

Mall and hospital entrances in the DMV run harder than a private office. A sensor that was zip-tied out of the way during a delivery has to be put back, not left as the new normal. We will not sign off a door whose safety zone is blocked by a planter that migrated into the swing.

Frequent questions

How is a sliding door service different from a swing operator tune-up?

A slider has a track, a belt, and a leading-edge sensor. A swing has an arm and a different safety zone. Using the swing checklist on a slider misses the debris that actually stops it.

What do you record when you walk the safety zone?

Whether the door stops or reverses for a person in the path, and whether the zone still matches the rails. A sensor with a piece of tape over it is written up as a deficiency, not cleaned off quietly and ignored.

Why does a missing decal matter if the door still moves?

The decal tells people the door moves on its own. Without it, the next incident is blamed on a mystery. Replacing the decal is part of a proper service, not decoration.

Can you set an interval and then disappear?

We set a date and we say what the date is for. If you want a contract, that is a separate agreement. The visit itself does not auto-renew in the dark.
